When you think about the most successful people in the world you can imagine being in their shoes and enjoying what being them must feel like. The fame, the money, and the power that it brings.

You don’t however take the time to consider the downsides of being them, the long hours, tireless dedication to their craft, and unwavering concentration on the one vital task.

This is in stark contrast to the diversifying nature of modern workers. I am a part of that group and I have come to learn a key indicator that sets me apart from who these people were in my position.

  • Ben Francis as the founder of Gymshark is only concerned about that brand.
  • Grant Cardone is solely focused on real estate investment.
  • Dave Ramsey is solely focused on financial literacy teaching.
  • Sam Parr was only concerned with email marketing when he started the Hustle.

The list could go on exhaustively. Now some could point out exceptions to this singular focus such as Elon Musk. It has to be noted that for his first projects that made him a billionaire they occurred sequentially and not all at once. Meaning that like all of my examples above he was singular in focus before expanding out once financially secure.
