I Have Only 1 Subject Left To Complete My Degree, I Don’t Want To Do It

Like many who start their university journeys at 17 or 18 years of age, I too was bright eyed and excited about what that journey would bring me and the great achievements and accolades that would occur once I break through and finish the course.

It seemed so clear back then. So to tell you a little about myself and what led me to this point at which I am writing now as a distraction and way to satisfy my procrastination.

I found myself in my final year of school facing a personal turmoil. I knew that I would not have the grades to gain access into my preferred and nearby university to study Medicine.

I did however sit on the cusp of having the grades to attend a medicine program over 2400km away.

I liked the thought of the schools location near beaches and mountains. I even liked the thought of having the opportunity to move out of home and live on campus and experience that lifestyle. Which unlike many of you from around the world, in Australia it is not the custom to move on campus while at university.

I however chose the pragmatic approach at the time and made the decision not to apply on the basis the basis that my parents would be unable to financially support me. Personally I also knew that I was not ready to…
