Stop Overthinking: Decisions Are Often Reversible, Inaction Is Not

I am a classic overthinker. I question most words that I write, I am in constant battles with my mind to start anything out of fear of making the wrong decision.

Most decisions are reversible, my continued inaction is not.

As I am writing this on the 1st of May I have taken the time to look back on what I have done and achieved in April. Unfortunately, if you look at the list of things I wanted to achieve and what I achieved you will see the same pattern that I observed. My inaction held me back more than poor decisions because I didn’t make any. I couldn’t even take action to make many decisions at all.

My goals for April:

  • Average daily steps: greater than 12,000
  • Exercise intentionally 15 or more times
  • Apply for 20 jobs
  • Make at least $1 USD online
  • Make social connections with at least 2 people

My results from April:

  • Average daily steps 10,156
  • Intentional exercise 8 times
  • Applied for Zero Jobs
  • Made more than $30 USD online

Dominic, these are great points, and I especially like that rather than beat yourself up, you're choosing to get what you can from the experience and leverage it to move forward. That's awesome!
