The Love We Have For Dogs

I am at a lovely family-run cafe in Danang Vietnam.

It is a space that combines both their residence at the back and a quaint cafe space at the front.

With such a family-oriented business and quite common here in Vietnam it is often hearing a child's tantrum around midday as they are prompted to take a nap. It is the families' dogs that have become accustomed to you from your daily coffee visit.

The beauty of pets and more so dogs is their capacity to draw in strangers based on their demeanor. I saw this as I watched far afar one of the families ' dogs struggling with the heat of this central Vietnamese day.

Weather that does not go below 30 degrees Celsius and reaches heights of 47 degrees by late morning.

They both seem to struggle with this intense and relentless heat. The fluffier of the two visibly feeling the effects of these unrelenting conditions.

The presence of these dogs cannot be understated as they have become a part of this cafe's environment more so than the staff themselves.

As such, I a distant dog lover have found myself concerned for the dogs' welfare and finding relief in the community support that is being shown towards both animals as their immediate family is at work preparing coffee for patrons.
