All too often you hear the horror stories about not receiving positive encouragement from family. I have had those times but there are people in my life that are unwavering in their support who don’t seem to grasp the magnitude of its impact on me.

It’s a quiet, often overlooked kind of encouragement, the kind that seeps deeply into the fabric of our being — grandparents believing in their grandchildren. As a grown man reflecting on the layers of praise and unwavering support I receive from my grandparents, I am increasingly aware of the profound impact their faith in me has had. Yet, no matter how much I say that I am thankful for them or care for them, I am sorely reminded that the extent of their impact on me is too hard to quantify between our hearts.

The Understated Power of Belief

Grandparents have a unique role in the lives of their grandchildren. They ideally provide a secondary layer of support, distinct from the immediate pressures and disciplines of parental guidance. This relationship is often marked by a gentler, more accepting kind of love.
