These 5 Factors Limit Your Success On Medium

I have written on Medium consistently for the past three weeks. These 5 things have contributed the most to my success on the platform so far:
1. You need to follow 50 people per day
This is a fantastic tip that I first received from Tom Kuegler a few years ago when first signed up for medium. Every day I find articles that are similar to those that I write about and I follow 50 of the clappers on those articles. In doing so you will get follow from around 5–10 of them. In my experience of following now over 1,147 people in the last 24 days, I have gained 209 new followers. This means that around 20% of the people I follow will follow me back. This tactic allows for your articles to be seen by more people, thus enhancing my reach. Be warned however that you need to limit new followers to approximately 50 per day as I attempted to follow more than 50 people per day and on two occasions my account has been suspended from following others for fear of spam following.
2. Post short articles
After posting 36 articles in 24 days I have come to realize that my articles that have been between 2–5 minutes in read length have performed greatest. My expectation of this is on the basis that taking the time as a reader to engage with a short article is far more…
