Why Young Women Without An Onlyfans Are Feeling Left Behind?
I am a 23-year-old male. Guys my age are more likely to be the target market for Onlyfans rather than advocates for the women who choose not to partake on the platform. I am merely intrigued to see however how a growing mindset regarding being left behind develops amongst a shortage of women who are surrounded by the financial opportunities that this platform and others like it present.
I have many young female friends of mine who are split into two different camps. Those who are on the platform and those who are feeling pressured to join so that they aren’t “left behind”.
I went out for brunch with a girlfriend of mine and this was the first time I had heard of this problem. For reference, she at the time was 19 and working full-time at a supermarket for just above minimum wage. She was also living away from home in an apartment with a friend and going to university to become a nurse. Between rent, transport, food, and other essential bills she was left with nothing else at the end of the week. Her only way to have some money left over was to work penalty rate shifts all in the hope that she could save up some money so that she didn’t have to go into debt when her car needed a service or she had to go to the dentist.
