You Would Give Anything To Be Where You Are Now

You just want the next day to come along. It can’t seem to come quickly enough.

Next week you will be on that cruise. You may be about to get married.

It doesn’t matter what you are going to do.

It matters that you appreciate the now.

Because you can never get this time back.

I vividly remember as a child that I couldn't wait to be another year older. To me, that meant that I unlocked a new level of life.

At 13 I would be able to start high school and get away from all of those ‘children’.

At 13 I wanted to be 16 so I could learn to drive.

At 16 I would be chatting with my mates about all the fun we could have. The legal beer we could drink, the thought I seeing what was in a strip club and casinos when we turned 18.

Then at 18, we all thought about what we were going to be doing with our lives and felt anxious that we all needed it planned out.

Now at 24, all I am thinking about is making the most of today and the the days ahead because it only felt like yesterday that I was thinking about turning 13.
